The Kishkinda Care connects sponsors with children whose families aren’t able to afford school costs.Your donation of 205 USD (175 EUR) covers 100% of a child’s tuition, books, uniform, and transport to Holy Hearts School for one year, in the village of Anegundi in Karnataka, India.
Local families, friends, and neighbours in Anegundi refer children in need of school enrollment.
We meet the child and their guardians to assess readiness, economic situation, and commitment to ongoing education.
This includes a recent photo, proof of identity, and a short background of the family’s circumstances.
We share the profile of a child you can choose to support.
Your donation of 205 USD ( 175 EUR / 18,000 INR) goes directly to the school and funds the child’s full school year at Holy Hearts School.
Our team escorts the child and guardian to school, pays tuition, and ensures they have everything needed for their first day.
Receive confirmation receipts, and — when possible — updates from the child’s family. Before the next school year, we’ll ask if you’d like to continue your sponsorship.
“I cannot pay the children’s school fees. My husband is not working since one year. My children’s future is a bright future that I want to give to, but I can’t. Please help me."— Sunitha, mother in Anegundi
Originated by Umā Inder, who has personally supported children’s education in Anegundi for several years, Kishkinda Care is now growing with the support of individuals like you. A small team located in Anegundi and internationally are implementing and expanding this work to benefit more children and their families.
"For the children of Anegundi—and their families—attending Holy Hearts School is a dream come true. The joy I feel in seeing a child flourish through an education that opens inner and outer doors is so deep and spontaneous, I am moved to share that possibility—with others like you.”
Anegundi is a small village in Karnataka on the northern bank of the Tungabhadra River, directly across from the ruins of Hampi, an UNESCO World Heritage site.Known in the ancient legend of Rāmāyaņa as Kishkindha, this landscape of prehistoric boulders and ancient temples also holds the living memory of the epic itself.Village life continues with farming, craftwork, and daily prayer. Within this quiet continuity, children face real limits: many are from low-income households, and some live in unstable or unsafe conditions. The work of Kishkinda Care is part of how the village takes care of its own.
In the Indian tradition, education is a foundational part of samskāra, the cultivation of inner clarity, conduct, and capacity. To learn is to grow in both knowledge (vidyā) and discernment (viveka), and to be equipped to participate fully in family, society, and dharma. To support a child’s education is to uphold that process. Known as vidyādāna, this has long been honoured as one of the highest forms of giving.Giving in this way strengthens a child’s ability to stand with self-respect, to speak with understanding, and to make steady choices in a changing world. It is also a continuation of what already belongs to Indian life: offering support where learning can take root.
